The Online Classroom: Funded by the Lenape Regional High School District's Grant Program for Excellence in Education

Welcome to the Online Classroom!

The Online Classroom has been designed for multiple purposes of efficiency.  First, the Online Classroom promotes technological competency; through its use students and parents alike will become more confident and comfortable with electronic communication.  Second, the Online Classroom provides an immediate means of feedback since student information such as grades, assignments, schedules, and classroom materials will be accessible online.  Additionally, the Online Classroom will offer innovative and progressive instruction including hands on multi-media lessons and assignments.  Finally, the Online Classroom will provide students with an invaluable experience that will equip them with the technological knowledge that they will use throughout their high school careers and beyond!

Happy Navigating!

Goals and Objectives

The goal of the Online Classroom is to efficiently and effectively instruct students in an English class via our most current technological tools.  All activities and instruction will meet the goals of the standard English class curriculum.

The Online Classroom utilizes the following district and state objectives:

  • Students will listen actively in a variety of situations in order to receive, interpret, evaluate and respond to information obtained from a variety of sources; thus, they will  become accustomed to and to efficiently use the new program.
  • Students will compose texts that are diverse in content and form for different audiences and for real and varied purposes.  They will post, send, and save the documents electronically.
  • Students will read, listen to, view, and respond to a diversity of materials and texts through a technology based information system; they will perform research tasks and respond to the materials critically.
  • Students will view, understand, and use non-textual visual information and representations for critical comparison, analysis, and evaluation.  They will interpret charts, navigate through calendars, and create their own non-textual samples of information via the Online Classroom.
  • Students, parents, and staff members will use technology regularly to communicate and access student information.
  • Students will use critical thinking, decision-making, and problem solving skills as they navigate through the Online Classroom.
  • Students will demonstrate self-management skills and personal responsibility.
  • Students will use all media resources skillfully and responsibly.
  • Students will improve critical thinking and reasoning skills.
  • Students will be able to apply their technological skills to other areas of instruction.
