  • Essay - How has war affected the modern world, its literature, its art, and its people? Consider how World War I affected the 1920's and 1930's as well as how the war in Iraq has affected the world today?   What overall affect does war have on life?  Make sure to include specfic detail from your notes this semester as well as detail form your own experiences.

  • Essay - How does experience make a person more miserable than innocence?  In other words, what is it about becoming an adult that adds grief to one's life?  Why would someone who lacks experience be happier?  Think about your own life when you respond.  How were you more innocent and happier when you were a young child?  What experiences have made you wiser yet less happy?
